Instead of the classic Tichka road, you head north-east to the Ouzoud waterfalls and the turquoise lake of Bin El Ouidane, cross the high plateaus of the Middle Atlas around Aguelmam Sidi Ali, then descend through the Ziz gorges to the Sahara.
