Three days is the sweet spot for reaching the tall dunes of Erg Chebbi from Marrakech without rushing. Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
Cross the High Atlas via Tizi n'Tichka, stop at Ait Ben Haddou and continue along the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs to an overnight hotel in the Dades Valley.

Day 2: Dades – Todra Gorge – Merzouga
Morning walk in the cool shade of the Todra Gorge, then drive through Tinghir and Erfoud to Merzouga. Camel ride into the dunes at sunset, dinner and music around the fire.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Marrakech
Sunrise over the sand, breakfast and a stop at the Rissani souk before the long, scenic drive back across the Atlas to Marrakech.
